Job summary

Flex Travel Solutions is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Montreal, QC (Hybrid) to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data warehousing infrastructure powering analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives.

You will collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and product teams to deliver data solutions, enforce governance, optimize performance, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring data platform reliability and security.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data processing.
• Hands-on experience with data pipeline tools such as Apache Airflow, dbt, Spark, or similar.
• Experience with designing scalable lakehouse architectures using Apache Iceberg on AWS data services.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake, or Azure Synapse).
• Familiarity with streaming data technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub).
• Experience with containerization and infrastructure-as-code (Docker, Terraform).
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of dashboards, reporting tools, and self-serve analytics capabilities.
• Champion data engineering best practices and mentor junior team members.
• Work with engineering and DevOps to ensure data platform reliability, security, and compliance.
• Evaluate and recommend new data technologies, tools, and architectural patterns.
