Position overview

The Data team at Stay22 is transforming raw data into actionable insights. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will develop and own end-to-end data pipelines and products, collaborating closely with data analysts, product managers, and software engineers. You will contribute to data governance and mentor junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement efficient ETL / ELT pipelines for reliable, scalable data ingestion and transformation.
• Build datasets and analytics layers across product areas for analysis and decision-making.
• Analyze data flows to design optimized data models.
• Optimize data pipelines for performance and scalability.
• Integrate with third-party systems and APIs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and deliver data solutions.
• Implement data governance for quality, integrity, and security.
• Maintain documentation for data pipelines and lineage.
• Stay updated on industry trends and suggest improvements.
• Mentor junior data engineers and promote best practices.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years in data engineering or similar role.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python, experience with data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery).
• Experience building and maintaining ETL / ELT pipelines with tools like Airflow or dbt.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP) and data services.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, modeling, and architecture.
• Ability to design solutions for complex data problems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
