Insight Global is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a real estate tech company. The successful candidate must be located in the Greater Vancouver Area. The role involves supporting the team with the following tasks:

Database Design and Development:

• Design and implement scalable, performance-optimized database solutions using SQL Server and Snowflake.
• Develop and maintain database procedures, schemas, tables, indexes, and views to support application needs.

SQL Server Query Optimization:

• Analyze and optimize SQL queries for efficiency and performance.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks using query plans.
• Collaborate with developers to enhance query performance and database responsiveness.

Data Modeling:

• Design and implement data models aligned with business requirements in collaboration with data engineering teams.
• Ensure data integrity and consistency across the database environment.

ETL Processes:

• Design, implement, and maintain ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
• Work with cross-functional teams to integrate data from various sources into SQL Server.

Monitoring and Maintenance:

• Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify issues.
• Perform routine tasks such as backups, restores, data purges, and index defragmentation.

Scripting and Automation:

• Experience with Unix and PowerShell scripting for simple automation tasks, including calling scripts, moving data files into S3, and basic scripting, not advanced development.

Collaboration and Documentation:

• Work with data scientists, analysts, and developers to understand data needs.
• Participate in architectural discussions and decision-making.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Document database designs, configurations, and procedures.
