Job summary

WSP in Canada is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to lead the design of mission-critical data center facilities, guiding multidisciplinary teams and acting as Engineer of Record.

You will advance cooling performance, energy efficiency, and lifecycle value while integrating BIM, CFD analyses, and rack-level liquid cooling solutions across projects.

Travel within Canada is expected to meet clients, sites and project milestones, supporting a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and P.Eng. designation.
• Licensed to practice in Ontario/Alberta/BC.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in data center environments.
• Experience with chilled water systems, cooling plants, pumping equipment, and liquid cooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design, delivery, and quality oversight for data center projects.
• Serve as Engineer of Record, reviewing deliverables for technical excellence and constructability.
• Shape cooling strategies using chilled water plants, heat rejection, pumping systems, air- and liquid-cooled architectures.
• Direct CFD analyses to improve airflow, thermal performance and facility efficiency.
• Integrate mechanical systems with electrical, structural, and control elements for coordinated solutions.
• Champion BIM and digital engineering to strengthen coordination and lifecycle performance.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and proposals to grow client trust and team capability.
