Overview of the Role

Autodesk has invested in data-driven decision-making, optimizing our platform’s business, product, and cost. The next five years will transform how we work, with a surge in data volume and scaling of AI/ML to provide even greater value to our customers. We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join our Platform Strategy and Emerging Technologies team, driving data-informed decisions through advanced analytics and insights.

You will be passionate about delivering proactive insights and partnering with stakeholders to influence product roadmaps. Your role involves surfacing valuable data on customer and product usage, guiding strategic actions, and translating large data streams into clear insights to support organizational decision-making.

This position is based in Toronto or Montreal, with a hybrid/remote setup. It reports to the Senior Manager, Analytics.

Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to identify, define, and analyze business problems using data, deriving actionable insights from complex datasets.
  2. Monitor KPIs and OKRs across platform initiatives, providing regular updates and ensuring data-driven insights support organizational goals.
  3. Work closely with product, engineering, and business teams to understand data needs, support analysis, and communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  4. Create impactful data visualizations using tools like Power BI, Looker, or similar to communicate insights and recommendations.
  5. Proactively explore data to support platform initiatives, focusing on performance, user engagement, and business impact.
  6. Develop advanced data models and statistical analyses to forecast trends, predict outcomes, and optimize decision processes.
  7. Ensure data quality by following best practices in data collection, cleaning, and analysis, resolving discrepancies as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Over 5 years of experience in large data analysis, business intelligence, or related fields, preferably in tech or SaaS environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related discipline.
  • Strong SQL skills and proficiency in Python or R for analysis and modeling.
  • Experience with ELT data warehouse tools (Airflow, dbt, Snowflake).
  • Experience with visualization tools like Power BI, Looker, with the ability to create compelling dashboards. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex data sets.
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques and modeling for deep data insights and predictive analytics.
  • Excellent communication skills for conveying complex insights to diverse audiences.
  • Effective team player with cross-functional engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in SaaS or platform engineering organizations.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk’s products and industry applications.
  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field.
