Job summary

Scotiabank is hiring a Senior Credit Solutions Associate in their Canadian Commercial Banking team in Toronto. The role focuses on supporting Senior Credit Solutions Managers through the credit adjudication process, preparing presentations and reports for larger Core client relationships, and assessing borrower credit health.

The position offers exposure to larger and more complex deals, collaboration with internal partners, and opportunities for growth toward a Senior Credit Solutions Manager

Qualifications

• University degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in Commercial Banking.
• Experience in credit underwriting or credit document preparation.
• Strong knowledge of financial statements, credit analysis, preliminary risk assessment.
• Strong knowledge of credit structures and risk management principles.
• Analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Commitment to excellent client service and ability to resolve issues.
• Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and credit systems.
• Team-focused and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Provide credit support to Senior Credit Solutions Managers during the credit adjudication process.
• Prepare credit presentations, approval packages, and reports for larger Core client relationships.
• Assess financial health and risk profile of borrowers and identify potential risks/opportunities.
• Maintain complete client files across credit and tracking systems.
• Collaborate with Relationship Managers to understand client needs and develop tailored credit solutions.
• Engage with clients to gather information and support credit-related activities.
• Participate in deal forums and engage with Global Risk Management as needed.
