Elective, a Vancouver-based fintech, seeks a Senior Credit Risk Analyst to own merchant underwriting, risk assessment, and portfolio performance initiatives. You’ll partner with finance leadership to shape risk policy and drive growth in a fast-paced startup.

The role emphasizes analytical rigor, AI-enabled workflows, and cross-functional collaboration in a hybrid, full-time setting in downtown Vancouver.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent in business, economics, or related area.
• 2–5 years in credit risk, underwriting, financial services advisory, or related areas. Bonus points for startup/fintech experience.
• AI proficiency: ability to use AI tools to streamline workflows or build solutions.
• Advanced Excel and working fluency in SQL and Python or R; capable of writing/validating queries against a lending database.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead merchant underwriting and onboarding workflows end-to-end, applying sound judgement to non-standard cases.
• Augment underwriting risk frameworks based on data analysis and modeling.
• Create tailored pricing proposals balancing competitiveness with risk-adjusted returns.
• Analyze loan book performance; deliver actionable recommendations to improve portfolio returns.
