Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
  • Experience preparing financial statements and financial analysis.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Experience in cost accounting and manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills; bilingual French/English.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate monthly and annual financial closings.

Job summary

Reporting to the Financial Director, the Senior CPA Analyst – Assistant Controller plays a key role in the organization's financial performance. They act as a business partner to the various divisions, ensure the integrity of financial information, and actively contribute to the evolution of Groupe Savoie's financial practices.

In a context of growth and continuous improvement, the person will gradually participate in the transition to the responsibilities of the Controller position.

Main responsibilities
  • Participate in the coordination of monthly and annual financial closing activities;
  • To produce, analyze and interpret financial statements and management reports;
  • Prepare and review accounting entries, reconciliations and financial analyses;
  • Ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with accounting standards;
  • Develop strategic financial analyses to support decision-making;
  • Participate in the development of budgets, financial forecasts and business scenarios;
  • Perform analyses of profitability, cost price, margins and manufacturing performance;
  • Produce and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial dashboards;
  • Perform financial analyses related to investment projects (CAPEX) and business cases;
  • Contribute to cost analyses of supply, fiber, biomass and operational profitability;
  • Participate in inventory monitoring and margin optimization;
  • To monitor tax obligations, indirect taxes, and to prepare audit files;
  • Participate in external audits and internal controls;
  • Contribute to the preparation of applications for government grants and funding;
  • Develop and recommend improvements to financial processes, internal controls and management tools;
  • Participate in automation, standardization and continuous improvement projects for the Finance function;
  • Act as a resource person for the accounting team and support the development of best practices;
  • Collaborating closely with managers to support operational and financial performance;
  • Carry out any other mandate or special project assigned by the Finance Department.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field;
  • Relevant experience in accounting and financial analysis;
  • Experience in preparing financial statements and in financial control;
  • Solid knowledge of accounting standards, internal controls and best financial practices;
  • Experience in cost accounting;
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (important asset);
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel;
  • Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills;
  • Bilingualism (French and English, spoken and written) is essential;
  • Knowledge of Sage, Tableau, Interal, LIMS and Asana is an asset.
