Job summary

Brunel is seeking a Senior Cost Control Specialist for a $2B project near Kamloops, BC. The role oversees cost control methods, processes, and systems during Construction Execution, with a 10×4 site rotation.

You will manage budgets, forecasts, and cost data, ensuring alignment of WBS and cost elements across the project. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in project cost control, 5+ years in an Owner’s role, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of project cost control experience.
• 5+ years of project cost control experience in an Owner’s role.
• 3+ years of field experience.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong knowledge of the engineering and construction industry.
• Experience with detailed engineering and execution stages.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety culture and adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies.
• Support implementation and maintenance of cost control processes and management plans.
• Develop project-specific cost control methodologies and reporting frameworks.
• Ensure cost management standards are applied throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage budgets, accruals, commitments, and cost data.
• Align WBS, cost accounts, and cost elements for financial tracking.
• Review and validate invoices and expenditures for compliance.
• Develop and maintain project forecasts including cash flow and budgets.
• Monitor cost changes, trends, and variances; communicate impacts.
• Apply earned value management and productivity analysis for performance.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, analyses, dashboards, and presentations.
• Collaborate with accounting and finance for reporting and capitalization.
