POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Cost Accountant will be essential in analyzing inventory costs and maintaining financial accuracy. Reporting to the CFO, this role will focus on creating detailed cost calculations and templates to support audits and business planning initiatives. You will work closely with production, shipping, and receiving teams to ensure inventory integrity and contribute to the companys financial reporting objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Perform inventory assessments at month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
· Maintain detailed and accurate records of supply inventory and ensure correct valuations.
· Collaborate with production, shipping, and receiving teams to optimize cost tracking processes.
· Conduct regular inventory counts to verify data accuracy.
· Assist IT and leadership teams in implementing the inventory module within the ERP system.
· Provide financial reporting and cost analysis with a primary focus on inventory valuation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
· Minimum of 2 years' experience in cost accounting, preferably in manufacturing or the seafood industry.
· CPA, CMA, or CGA designation, or currently pursuing CPA certification.
· Advanced proficiency in Excel, with the ability to manage and analyze large datasets.
· Strong understanding of IT systems and data flows associated with cost management.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
· Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience in seafood processing, manufacturing, or fish plant operations.
· Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management software.
· Proactive, hands-on approach with a team-oriented mindset.
