Job summary

Synechron in Toronto is seeking a Java Developer to join the Cash Equities Client & Market Connectivity team. You will design and implement scalable, low-latency Java services and collaborate with product owners across a geographically dispersed, multicultural environment.

The role requires strong problem-solving, architecture thinking, and hands-on experience with microservices, FIX protocol, and modern DevOps tooling.

Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on software engineering in low-latency or real-time systems.
Proficient in Core Java with microservices and low-latency design (Zero GC).
Strong Linux/UNIX CLI skills.
Familiar with FIX protocol and cash equities order flow.
Experience with DevOps tooling (Groovy, Jenkins CI/CD).
Collaborates in a multicultural global team; strong communication.

Responsibilities

Develop strategic FIX client-facing & market-facing platform to meet business needs.
Face off Product owners and sponsors; discuss requirements and priorities.
Improve test and deployment automation; advance Continuous Delivery maturity.
Build an event-based, high-throughput Order Management Platform for Cash Equities.
