Job summary

Insight Global in Toronto seeks a lead Java developer to own the Rates Derivative Pricing System for a Canadian Tier 1 Bank. You’ll be hands-on, writing production code daily while setting the technical direction for architecture and performance.

This front-office-facing role couples finance and tech depth, requiring rapid collaboration with traders, Quants, and support partners across North America and APAC. No direct reports; leadership is architectural, not managerial.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of server-side Java development with concurrency and messaging
• 1+ years in lead/senior engineering technical direction
• Experience communicating with traders and Quants
• Experience building low-latency trading apps
• Knowledge of rates, FX, or credit curve pricing
• Ability to break down complex business requirements into technical solutions
• Experience providing L2 production support
• Excellent verbal and written communication

Responsibilities

• Hands-on coding while guiding technical direction
• Partner with stakeholders to gather and define requirements
• Design and implement high-performance, maintainable solutions
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle
• Meet deadlines in a fast-moving release cycle
