About this opportunity: Reporting to the Manager OT Operations, the Senior Coordinator, OT SCADA provides senior-level technical coordination, governance, and multi-site accountability for SCADA systems and Observation Well (OBS) monitoring and control infrastructure across Upstream Thermal and Conventional facilities. This role ensures front line operations support, standards compliance, data integrity, risk management, and MOC/project execution alignment for SCADA and OBS assets while acting as the primary interface between Operations, Engineering, Reservoir/Subsurface, Projects, and external integrators. This role can be located out of our Calgary or Lloydminster office.
Lead coordination of the SCADA systems and Observation Well (OBS) operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and consistent support across Thermal and Conventional assets. Manage SCADA work intake, prioritization, scheduling, and execution of operational support, maintenance activities, projects, and MOC requests. Coordinate SCADA and OBS infrastructure activities including new well additions, shut-ins, telemetry systems, alarm management, and data quality. Oversee the annual Integrated Winter Program (IWP), including planning, budgeting, installation, commissioning, and delivery of OBS and SCADA-related projects. Ensure integrity, availability, and lifecycle management of SCADA and OBS systems, including hardware/software inventories, upgrades, cybersecurity compliance, and capital renewal planning. Coordinate incident reporting, disaster recovery readiness, after-hours support, corrective actions, and business continuity processes. Maintain accurate documentation, system records, and data standards, ensuring compliance with operational, measurement, and reporting requirements. Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Projects, Cybersecurity, and external contractors to support commissioning, outages, turnarounds, and operational reliability.
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements: Legally authorized to work in Canada. Registered P.Eng, Technologist or Red Seal Technician designation. Minimum 12 years related industry experience with demonstrated leadership. Demonstrated knowledge of SCADA architecture, RTU/PLC integration, telemetry/industrial communications, system lifecycle management, and Observation Well instrumentation and data acquisition. Experience with one or more SCADA/telemetry platforms. Experience with RTUs, PLCs and field controllers. Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and telemetry. Understanding of OT cybersecurity, remote access governance, and SCADA data integrity/historian management. Strong understanding of Management of Change (MOC) processes, alarm management strategies, preventative maintenance and with system lifecycle and obsolescence monitoring.
