Job summary

WSP is seeking a Principal Conveyance Engineer to lead delivery of municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure across Canada. You will guide multidisciplinary teams through planning, design and delivery while shaping resilient solutions and mentoring future leaders.

You will oversee calculations, reports and drawings, champion QA/QC, and support business development with clients and partners. This role requires a P.Eng. and 12–15 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• P.Eng. designation and registration with Professional Engineers Ontario.
• 12–15 years of experience delivering municipal water, wastewater, or stormwater projects.
• Deep expertise in planning, design and delivery of watermains, trunk sewers, forcemains, pump stations, outfalls, pipelines and related conveyance infrastructure.
• Experience as technical lead on complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
• Strong background preparing and reviewing technical reports, drawings, specs and cost estimates.
• Experience leading QA/QC reviews and mentoring project teams.
• Knowledge of trenchless technologies, environmental approvals, hydraulic modelling concepts and standard engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical planning, design and delivery of complex municipal conveyance projects.
• Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams delivering large-scale infrastructure solutions.
• Oversee development and review of engineering calculations, reports, specs, drawings and cost estimates.
• Establish QA/QC practices and ensure technical excellence across deliverables.
• Mentor engineers, designers and technologists and foster professional growth.
• Address complex engineering challenges with innovative, cost-effective solutions.
• Support project pursuits, proposals and client relationships across agencies and contractors.
• Contribute guidance throughout feasibility studies, environmental assessments, detailed design, procurement and construction support.
