Job summary

Controls Technician position in Newmarket, Ontario, operating in a full-time capacity within a manufacturing environment. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and repair PLC-controlled systems, vision equipment, barcoding, CNC machines, and electromechanical presses.

You will conduct root cause analysis, update PLC programs and HMI configurations, and provide technical guidance while supporting new automation integrations.

Qualifications

• Experience with PLC-based control systems and automation equipment.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis on electrical, mechanical, and automation issues.
• Proficient in documenting maintenance actions and updating PLC/HMI configurations.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair PLC-controlled systems, vision inspection equipment, barcoding, CNC machining centers, and electromechanical presses.
• Conduct root cause analysis of electrical, mechanical, and automation issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain and update PLC programs, vision system configurations, HMI interfaces, and related documentation, including backups and modifications.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and facility systems to minimize downtime.
• Monitor equipment performance and quality standards; recommend reliability improvements and cost reductions.
