Job summary

Bimbo Canada is seeking an Electrical Controls & Automation professional to advance equipment performance and safety. You will develop SCADA dashboards, program PLCs and drive automation improvements across Bakery operations.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering or related diploma, 2+ years in automation, and hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI, VFDs and SCADA systems. Expect travel within the GTA and a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related diploma.
• 2+ years in Controls and Automation field.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs and servo systems.
• Knowledge of industrial networks and SCADA systems.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL and C/C++ preferred.
• Willingness to travel within the GTA and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety regulations including LOTO, arc flash, PPE.
• Use automation tech to boost productivity, safety and reliability.
• Develop SCADA dashboards to display equipment status.
• Investigate issues, find root causes and implement actions.
• Assist audits and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Program VFDs/servo drives and calibrate instrumentation.
• Set up equipment, perform installations, and support breakdowns.
• Manage documentation and participate in cross-functional teams.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs and work in hot, loud environments.
• Flexible shifts and occasional GTA travel.
