Job summary

The STORY Group Inc. is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to join its growing controls team in Windsor, Ontario. This hands-on role covers design, programming, commissioning and start-up of custom automation projects.

You will lead PLC and HMI development, robotics integration and AutoCAD design, and collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing and project management teams to deliver full lifecycle solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in custom/factory automation with hands-on controls design.
• Strong PLC, HMI, robotics and AutoCAD experience required.
• Experience with major brands (AB, Siemens, Omron, Fanuc, etc.) is a plus.

The STORY Group is partnering with an established industrial automation client to recruit a Senior Controls Engineer to join their growing controls engineering team.

This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced controls professional who enjoys taking custom factory automation projects from design and programming through commissioning and start-up.

What you’ll be doing:

• Design, program and commission custom automation systems
• PLC & HMI programming
• Robotics programming and integration
• Electrical/pneumatic AutoCAD design
• Troubleshooting, start-up and debug
• Collaborating with mechanical engineering, manufacturing and project management teams
• Supporting projects throughout the full automation lifecycle

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years of custom/factory automation experience, including hands-on controls design and programming. Strong experience with PLC, HMI, robotics and AutoCAD is required. Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Fanuc, KUKA, ABB, Nachi, Cognex or Keyence would be an asset.
