Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting for a Senior Contracts Manager to oversee contractual aspects of major construction projects in Kimberley and the Northern Cape region. You will manage tendering through project completion, protecting company interests and ensuring compliance.

The role requires a law degree or bachelor’s in CM/QS, at least 8 years in contracts management, knowledge of FIDIC/NEC/JBCC, and strong negotiation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Law degree or Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field
• Minimum 8 years of contracts management experience in construction
• In-depth knowledge of FIDIC, NEC, JBCC contract forms
• Strong understanding of contract law, dispute resolution mechanisms and claims management
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
• Experience with contract management software is an advantage

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Contracts Manager to oversee the contractual aspects of major construction projects in Kimberley and the surrounding Northern Cape region. This crucial role involves managing all contract-related matters, from tender stage through to project completion, ensuring that the company's interests are protected and that projects are executed in compliance with contractual obligations. You will be instrumental in negotiating terms, resolving disputes, and ensuring timely and accurate administration of all construction contracts, playing a key role in the financial and legal success of projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the negotiation and finalization of all construction contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
• Oversee the administration of contracts, including managing variations, claims, and extensions of time.
• Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, regulations, and company policies.
• Manage dispute resolution processes and provide expert advice on contractual matters.
