Job summary

Tatham Engineering Limited in Barrie, Ontario, seeks a Senior Contract Administrator, Construction Inspector to manage contract administration and field inspection for water and wastewater facilities. The role supports the Water & Wastewater group out of the Barrie office.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of relevant experience, an Engineering Technology or Technician background, CET preferred, and a valid driver’s license. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Engineering Technology or Technician program.
  • C.E.T. certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of contract drawings, tender documents and design and construction standards.
  • Field experience working around heavy equipment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiasm to work in a team structure and a willingness to help and collaborate with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Contract administration for vertical infrastructure (treatment plants, pump stations, reservoirs, watermains, sanitary force mains).
  • Conduct site meetings and prepare meeting minutes and payment certificates.
  • Review, negotiate and settle claims for extra work; respond to public inquiries.
  • Liaise with municipal and agency staff; prepare field inspection reports.
  • Inspect works; verify quantities and quality; collect data for records.

We are seeking to fill a new role of a Senior Contract Administrator, Construction Inspector to work in the Water & Wastewater group out of our Barrie office.

This position is responsible for the contract administration and inspection of vertical infrastructure such as treatment plants and pump stations (water and sewage), water storage reservoirs, yard piping, watermains and sanitary force mains. Contract administration duties include conducting site meetings and preparing meeting minutes, payment certificates, contract change orders, reviewing, negotiating and settling claims for extra work, responding to public enquiries and liaison with municipal and agency staff. Inspection duties include liaison with contractors, preparing field inspection reports, collecting for record construction data and verifying quantities and quality of work.

$90,000 to $125,000
