Your Opportunity

The Performance Excellence & Advancing Knowledge (PEAK) team in Cancer Care Alberta is leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive Performance Monitoring Framework (PMF) that will support continuous improvement and achievement of Alberta's 10 Year Strategic Plan for Cancer. The PMF will provide an enterprise approach to monitoring and evaluating performance across the cancer care continuum, encompassing clinical outcomes, patient experience, workforce, finance, innovation, and operational performance. The PMF enables integrated reporting for executive, operational, government, public, and clinical audiences. Beyond reporting, the PMF will serve as an enterprise performance excellence system where teams are supported by meaningful data interpretation, quality improvement tools and templates, coaching, and governance to enable continuous improvement across the organization. Reporting to the Director of PEAK, the Senior Consultant will oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing evolution of Cancer Care Alberta's PMF. This includes working collaboratively with partners to develop key performance indicators, reporting infrastructure, evaluation methods, knowledge translation, capacity‑building opportunities, and evidence‑informed improvement projects that support organizational accountability in a learning health system. The Senior Consultant will work closely with the Managing Director, Cancer Care Executive Committee (CCEC), and other Cancer Care Alberta leaders to coordinate, compile, update, and schedule routine performance reporting activities including reporting on the Alberta Cancer Strategy.

As a provincial team, the position location is negotiable and may be eligible for remote or hybrid work arrangements and requires occasional provincial travel and opportunities to work in‑person with collocated team members for key meetings and workshops.

Required Qualifications

• An advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in a health, data, business, public administration, or related discipline, with education and experience relevant to the role.
• A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience leading evaluation and reporting initiatives within a healthcare organization of significant size, complexity and diversity.
• Formal training in quality improvement or business management.
• Experience with dashboard development, analysis, synthesis, and reporting.
• Experience with quantitative and qualitative health systems evaluation including developing evaluation frameworks and logic models.
• Experience facilitating discussions related to data interpretation and analysis with multidisciplinary groups, including clinical and senior leadership audiences.
• Strategic thinking skills, including the ability to synthesize diverse and sometimes competing inputs into clear, actionable recommendations aligned with organizational priorities.
• Experience implementing complex initiatives, including identifying risks, managing issues, and supporting execution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing briefing materials, reports, and presentations for senior leadership.

Additional Required Qualifications

• Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., SAS), Connect Care data, Tableau, Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.

• Experience designing apps & websites and EHRs, surveys in RedCap and other tools.
