SENIOR CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGIST

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Technologist with a strong construction background for a senior role in Construction Administration within our Transportation and Municipal Engineering Group. This role involves leadership in tendering, construction, and post-construction phases, working closely with project managers, engineers, clients, and contractors. There will also be opportunities to work on Land Development projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with project managers and clients to prepare construction contracts, technical specifications, and manage tender processes.
2. Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
3. Oversee and support Resident Engineers and Technologists.
4. Review and negotiate change orders and RFIs.
5. Coordinate with design engineers to resolve on-site design conflicts.
6. Lead construction meetings and maintain communication with stakeholders.
7. Manage project budgets, including construction and consulting costs.
8. Attend post-construction inspections and prepare documentation for project completion.
9. Review progress reports and ensure compliance with specifications.
10. Mentor junior staff in field and administration roles.

Additional Support Tasks:

1. Assist in proposal preparations.
2. Provide constructability input during project design.
3. Perform earthwork calculations and surface analysis.
4. Oversee compilation of close-out documentation.

Qualifications:

• Designated as a C.E.T, P.L. (Eng), or P.Tech.
• 7+ years of experience in Construction Administration, particularly in transportation and municipal projects.
• Knowledge of earthworks, utilities, drainage, and landscaping practices.
• Experience with transportation corridors, municipal standards, and contracts.
• Civil 3D and surveying experience is an asset.
• Strong time management, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
