Job summary

Bird Construction in Calgary, AB seeks a Senior Superintendent to lead on-site construction for major projects, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence. You will coordinate subcontractors, manage daily site operations, and report progress to the Project Manager.

You will develop master schedules, oversee logistics, control costs, and uphold Bird's values while mentoring junior resources and maintaining strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or diploma in construction management, engineering, or Red Seal endorsement.
• 10 years’ experience in the construction industry, preferably healthcare, education, sports, and recreation construction.
• Strong budgeting, costing and scheduling skills.
• Proficient with MS Project, Procore, SAP and MS Office.
• Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Develop master project schedules and monitor progress to meet deadlines.
• Coordinate site logistics and manage daily construction operations.
• Lead safety programs and ensure site complies with regulations.
• Review contracts and subcontracts with project manager.
• Attend owner meetings and report project status.
• Manage procurement and subcontractor coordination.
