Job summary

Bird is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Calgary to lead daily project management activities, control budgets, schedules and safety compliance on assigned projects. You will work with the Project Superintendent and team to drive performance and deliver quality outcomes.

The role focuses on coordinating safety programs, cost control, subcontract administration, and effective communication with stakeholders across high-rise, mixed-use, institutional or commercial construction projects.

Qualifications

• Experience leading project teams and directing daily management of assigned projects.
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, schedules and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety leadership and monitor safety performance on project sites.
• Plan, schedule, set objectives and control activities during construction.
• Supervise and coach project team members; complete performance evaluations.
• Administer and manage prime/subcontracts; evaluate subcontractor performance.
• Manage project budget and billing; coordinate with accounting for payments.
• Review costs and identify revenue opportunities; report financial performance monthly and quarterly.
• Maintain positive relations with clients, consultants, architects and subcontractors.
