Job summary

Manga Hotel Group is seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager to lead high-rise residential and hospitality construction and renovation projects. The role requires planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating with consultants, contractors and internal teams to deliver on time, within scope and on budget.

On-site, full-time position based in Etobicoke, ON, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and communication across multi-property developments in Canada and the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive construction experience, with a track record in high-rise residential or commercial hospitality projects.
• Ability to interpret interior and architectural designs and drawings.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage comprehensive project plans, budgets, and schedules.

Manga Hotel Group is a Canadian company involved in the acquisition, development and management of high-quality residences and hotels affiliated with prestigious brands such as Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt and Intercontinental Hotels Group. Currently, Manga Hotels owns and operates 35 hotels with over 6500 rooms across Canada and in the United States, 18 food and beverage outlets and 5 residential properties with several new properties and developments in the pipeline.

As Manga Hotels continues to expand, we are actively seeking talented individuals to join our growing team. We are looking for a skilled and highly experienced Senior Construction Project Manager with at least 10 years of experience who can plan and oversee a hotel construction or renovation project from initiation to close. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of multiple construction projects, including pre-and post-construction matters;
• Preparing and managing comprehensive project plans and business cases addressing scope, cost, schedules, budget, resources, risk, benefits and quality expectations of construction projects;
• Leading negotiations with consultants, contractors, subcontractors and other third parties and overseeing purchase orders and monitoring progress and schedules;
• Reviewing and coordinating the development of construction documentation, including schedule, work packages, budget and all specifications;
• Developing detailed construction budgets and providing feedback on other budget components, including schedule, work packages, and specifications;
• Reviewing all deliverables following completion of project, coordinating inspections, deficiency documentation, preparing close out documentation, and warranty claims;
• Preparing construction schedules, progress reports, and monthly reports;
• Managing trade contractor site meetings, RFIs, invoices, and document control processes;
• Preparing and issuing contracts with trades;
• Setting and managing deliverable expectations with all team members (internal and external);
• Data management, coordinating trades and sub-trades, negotiations with contractors and suppliers;
• Liaising with consultants, contractors and trades, coordinating meetings and deliverables;
• Preparing estimates and bid comparisons, and procuring material for various projects, including negotiating pricing;
• Highly organized and responsive with the ability to work with agility and changing conditions;
• Preparing schedules by studying plans, updating specifications, identifying and projecting efficiencies;
• Resolving discrepancies in project deliverables by collecting, managing and analyzing information;
• Conducting site visits for supervision and coordination of trades and work;
• Maintaining continuity among corporate and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs; and
• Performing any other duties required to run projects professionally, smoothly and safely.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive construction experience, with a proven track record managing high-rise residential and/or commercial hospitality projects
