Vaco Recruiter Services is seeking a seasoned Project Accountant in the Greater Toronto Area to manage contracts, billing, and financial reporting for multiple projects. You will partner with Project Managers and operations to monitor budgets, forecasts, and cost performance, ensuring accuracy and timely closeouts.

The role requires 5+ years of project accounting experience, strong Excel abilities, and familiarity with ERP systems.

Qualifications

Post-secondary degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA enrollment or progress is a plus.
5+ years of accounting experience in a project-based environment.
Experience in construction, engineering, consulting, infrastructure or similar project-driven industry is a plus.
Strong Excel skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with project accounting or ERP systems is an asset.

Responsabilités

Manage project contracts, POs, billing, and supporting docs.
Coordinate with vendors, customers, and internal teams on billing and compliance.
Partner with Project Managers to manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
Lead project accounting activities including reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close.
Develop project spend plans and forecasts; review costs to complete and revenue recognition.
Prepare monthly project billings and financial reports; provide updates to leadership.
