Job summary

Kleinfelder in Edmonton, Alberta, is seeking a Senior Construction Materials & Inspection Technologist (C.E.T./P.Tech.) to oversee field and laboratory testing across soils, concrete, and aggregates. This site-based role requires on-site presence and coordination with the Engineer of Record.

You will lead inspection programs, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with CSA standards and provincial regulations while delivering accurate testing and reporting for high-profile projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of construction industry experience.
• CCIL certifications across multiple disciplines.
• C.E.T. or P.Tech. designation required.
• Leads inspection programs and mentors staff.
• Experience on large-scale or mission-critical projects.
• Familiarity with Alberta regulatory environment.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Authorized to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee field testing and inspection activities (soil, concrete, aggregates).
• Coordinate with contractors, project teams, and client representatives.
• Review and validate field and laboratory data for accuracy and compliance.
• Identify non-conformance conditions and provide recommendations.
• Support Quality Management Plans and QA/QC programs.
• Mentor junior technicians and inspectors.
• Contribute to effective communication among Owner, Contractor, and Engineering teams.
