Pinnacle is exclusively recruiting for a Senior Estimator on behalf of our client, a leading general contractor operating across Canada. This is a key role within the organization, responsible for leading the estimation process, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring the development of accurate, competitive, and high-quality proposals.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Collaborate with business development and operations teams to define proposal requirements and project scope.
• Conduct detailed cost analysis leveraging historical project data and in-house resources.
• Prepare and issue requests for quotations, develop base cost estimates, and create preliminary construction and labor schedules.
• Lead the preparation of proposal documents, contract agreements, and Letters of Authorization.
• Manage optional pricing strategies, finalize project costs, and ensure cost coding aligns with project financials.
• Work closely with the Project Manager during project handoff to ensure seamless initiation.
• Chair proposal review meetings and contribute to key project discussions.
• Provide leadership to Project Planners and Planning Coordinators, supporting their professional development.
• Delegate proposal development tasks while overseeing quality and accuracy.
• Offer coaching and guidance to junior staff to boost team capabilities.

MUST HAVES:

• Post-secondary education in engineering, construction technology, or a related field (CET, P.Eng, EIT, or equivalent work experience).
• Minimum 5 years of industry experience with proven leadership in proposal development teams.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) for effective stakeholder engagement.
• Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and manage a proposal support team.
• Exceptional attention to detail, planning, and organizational skills.
• Creative problem-solving abilities for complex challenges.
• Solid understanding of construction financials and reading/interpreting drawings and specifications.
• Willingness to travel to worksites as needed.
