Matrix Compression is seeking a Senior Compressor Mechanic for Fly In/Fly Out operations in Midland, Texas. You will lead the inspection, maintenance, and repair of natural gas compressors and related equipment, diagnose issues, and mentor junior staff to ensure reliable, safe uptime in field settings.

The role emphasizes hands-on mechanical expertise, independent work in outdoor environments, and collaboration with operations, engineering, and HSE teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience with natural gas compression equipment.
• Strong understanding of compressor engines, frames, pistons, valves, ignition systems, and control panels.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical and operational issues.
• Experience with CAT, Waukesha, Ariel, or similar equipment preferred.
• Strong safety mindset and familiarity with HSE protocols.
• Ability to work independently in field environments and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

Matrix Compression is seeking a skilled Senior Compressor Mechanic to join our operations team in Midland, Texas. This role is ideal for a highly skilled technician who brings deep mechanical expertise, strong troubleshooting abilities, and leadership in maintaining natural gas compression equipment. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and uptime of natural gas compression assets across our field operations.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical and operational issues.
• Experience working with CAT, Waukesha, Ariel, or similar equipment (highly preferred).
• Strong safety mindset and familiarity with HSE protocols.
• Ability to work independently in field environments and manage priorities effectively.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Working Conditions:

• Field‑based role with travel to various sites as required.
• Work performed in outdoor industrial environments, in varying weather conditions.
• On‑call rotation or overtime may be required.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
