Job summary

iA Financial Group (Industrial Alliance) is seeking a Senior Compliance Advisor to lead the development of compliance programs for iA Auto and Home Insurance and Prysm General Insurance. You will work with the second line of defense to manage regulatory risks and provide stakeholders with a clear view of the risk profile.

The role focuses on supporting business sectors, building compliance capability, and mentoring other advisors within the team.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills for assessing legal and regulatory risks.
  • Ability to advise and influence stakeholders in risk management and compliance.
  • Sound judgment, rigor, and impartial approach.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to balance differing perspectives to move initiatives forward.
  • Has 7 to 10 years of experience in property and casualty insurance or the financial services industry, including risk management.
  • Holds a Bachelor's degree in Law and is a member of the Bar or the Chamber of Notaries.
  • Demonstrates autonomy, excellent organizational skills, and ability to manage priorities.
  • Knowledge of P&C insurance industry and iAAH, Prysm, and iA sectors is an asset.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in French.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Sector Compliance Manager in implementing and enhancing legal and regulatory risk management programs.
  • Contribute to application of regulatory requirements and guidelines issued by the AMF.
  • Develop a comprehensive view of compliance risks and contribute to the organization's risk profile.
  • Design and monitor indicators used to identify non-compliance and significant risks.
  • Advise and support business sectors in managing legal and regulatory risks and deploying compliance programs.
  • Assist stakeholders during regulatory changes by assessing impacts and recommending actions.
  • Contribute to reporting activities, regulatory risk assessments related to projects, and action plans from incidents or non-compliance.
  • Serve as a resource on committees, working groups, and industry consultations.

  • Develop a comprehensive view of compliance risks and contribute to the creation of the organization's risk profile.

  • Advise and support various business sectors in managing legal and regulatory risks and deploying compliance programs.
  • Assist stakeholders during regulatory changes by assessing impacts and recommending necessary actions.
  • Contribute to reporting activities, regulatory risk assessments related to projects, and the development of action plans resulting from incidents or non-compliance issues.
  • Serve as a resource person for the team and represent the organization on various committees, working groups, and industry consultations.

  • Has knowledge of the property and casualty insurance industry as well as iAAH, Prysm, and iA business sectors, which would be considered an asset.
  • Has an advanced level of proficiency in French.
