Job summary

Huawei Canada is seeking a Senior Compiler Engineer to design, implement, and optimize compiler software across AI, GPU, and CPU-centric products. You will lead development efforts, mentor juniors, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams in a research‑driven environment.

The role requires strong C/C++/Java fundamentals, experience with LLVM/Clang, and an understanding of hardware/software co-design. A PhD or advanced degrees are assets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience programming in large software projects.
• Experience in production compiler development or research in LLVM/Clang is a plus.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks and related ecosystem is a plus.
• Strong understanding of computer processor architecture and OS fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software to satisfy business requirements in a wide range of products.
• Analyze and optimize software system performance, and assist with software/hardware co-design.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, determine project and feature requirements, and create development plans for software productization.
• Provide leadership in scrums, reviews, and project planning; engage in team building.
• Mentor junior developers through education sessions, code reviews, and career development.
• Research industry trends and propose new technical directions for the team.
