Job summary

ComForCare Home Health Care - Halton in Milton, ON, seeks a compassionate Senior Companion to join our team. This role focuses on providing genuine companionship and in-home care to seniors, helping with daily activities, transportation, and social engagement.

You will work closely with the care team to monitor client health, document changes, and support families with respite care, enriching the lives of clients and their loved ones.

Qualifications

  • Experience in caregiving or companion care is an asset.
  • Passion for working with seniors.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
  • Ability to pass DEARS assessment.
  • English fluency in reading, writing, and speaking.
  • First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Clear vulnerable sector check required.

  • Provide companionship and emotional support to seniors in their homes, fostering trust and positive relationships.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, and errands.
  • Accompany clients to appointments, social outings, and community activities.
  • Monitor and report changes in client health, mood, or behavior to the care team.
  • Engage clients in meaningful conversation, hobbies, and recreational activities to promote mental well-being.
  • Provide respite support to family caregivers as needed.
  • Maintain accurate client care records and documentation in accordance with company standards.

About the Role:

ComForCare Home Health Care - Halton is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Senior Companion (SC) to join our growing team in Milton, ON.   • Provide companionship and emotional support to seniors in their homes, fostering trust and positive relationships

Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a caregiving, companion care, or personal support role is an asset
  • Genuine passion for working with seniors and elderly individuals
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient, empathetic demeanor
  • Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy with a professional attitude
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle considered an asset
  • Ability to pass the DEARS (Drugs and Ethics) assessment.
  • Strong English communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking)
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
  • Clear criminal background check and vulnerable sector screening required
