Position: Senior Communications Engineer – Rail Systems

Location: Western Canada

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement communication system designs specific to rail systems, including fibre optic, IP networks, radio, CCTV, and more.
2. Lead cybersecurity strategies for rail and transit projects, overseeing their integration throughout the project lifecycle.
3. Create system design deliverables such as diagrams, layouts, and bills of materials.
4. Collaborate with project teams to ensure seamless system integration and compliance with standards.
5. Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and record documentation of communication systems.
6. Participate in multidisciplinary collaboration and project pursuit efforts.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant engineering or IT fields.
2. At least 10 years of experience in designing communication systems for rail or transportation projects.
3. Knowledge of industry standards such as CEC, NFPA, TIA, BICSI.
4. Experience with relevant design tools and participation in system testing and maintenance.
5. Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

Desired Qualifications:

1. Professional Engineer or RCDD designation preferred.
2. Knowledge of Cisco technologies and budget management.
