Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a Senior COBOL / Production Support Engineer to maintain and optimize the core Depo platform. You will balance hands-on enhancements with critical production support, including nightly batch processing and incident resolution.

The role requires strong COBOL, Control-M scheduling, Linux shell scripting, and OpenVMS DCL, with banking knowledge for validation of interest calculations and account balances.

Qualifications

4–6 years of experience in a related role.
Strong COBOL development, debugging, and optimization skills.
Proficiency with Linux/Unix environments and batch processing.
Experience with Oracle PL/SQL and SQL querying.
Familiarity with SDLC, change control, and incident management.

Responsibilities

Provide production support for the Depo platform and nightly batch runs using Control‑M.
Investigate, diagnose, and resolve batch failures and processing issues.
Respond to user inquiries and extract data on balances, accounts, and transactions.
Develop system enhancements and scripts in Linux shell and OpenVMS DCL.
Prepare technical design specs, estimates, and documentation.
Coordinate testing and formal change requests per SDLC guidelines.
Maintain tracking in Jira and report to management on progress and compliance.
