Job summary

Fostet Manufacturing Inc. is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC mills and lathes, producing precision metal parts from blueprints and GD&T drawings. The role emphasizes efficient setup, quality control, and mentoring junior operators in a fast-paced facility.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of CNC experience, familiarity with Fanuc/Mazak/Haas controls, and a strong eye for detail to maintain tight tolerances and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on CNC mill/lathe experience.
• Proficient reading blueprints and precision measurement tools.
• Strong understanding of machining principles and materials.
• Experience with tight tolerances and G-code editing preferred.
• Ability to inspect parts and adjust processes for conformance.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce precision parts per drawings.
• Achieve set up times and cycle times.
• Tooling selection and machine parameter adjustments for efficiency.
• Perform initial part inspections and adjust for conformance.
• Mentor CNC operators and collaborate with engineers.
• Maintain setup sheets, production logs and quality records.
• Follow safety rules and keep work area clean.
