Job summary

HOOPP in Toronto is seeking a Senior Data Solution Engineer to strengthen its investment data ecosystem. You will own the Detect → Respond → Prevent cycle, improve data pipelines, and ensure data reliability for trading, risk, valuation and analytics.

You will collaborate across investment, risk, finance, operations, data management and technology teams, design AI-assisted solutions, extend data models, and drive production readiness with governance and ICFR controls.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in professional software development.
• Strong SQL, data analysis, and problem solving.
• Knowledge of investment products, strategies, and valuation models.
• Experience creating AI agents or intelligent automation.

Responsibilities

• Evolve the investment data warehouse, pipelines and enterprise data model.
• Own the Detect → Respond → Prevent cycle across the platform stack.
• Investigate data issues across positions, transactions, pricing and market data.
• Create and validate changes to data models and data feeds.
• Design AI-assisted projects using Python, Jupyter and PowerShell.
• Lead projects with cross‑team collaboration for reliable data solutions.
• Investigate governance, production releases, access reviews and controls.
• Maintain runbooks, monitoring and operational workflows.
