Job summary

Sentient HR is recruiting a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to guide and ensure the safety of children from infant to school age at centres located in Oakville, Ontario.

The role involves maintaining a high-quality learning environment, assessing and caring for each child, and communicating professionally with parents and colleagues. The successful candidate will follow CCEYA, public health guidelines and Sentient HR policies.

Qualifications

• ECE Diploma from a recognized Ontario college.
• In good standing with the College of ECEs.
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check within the last 6 months.
• Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C.
• Familiarity with HDLH, AQI, and CCEYA.
• Reliable transportation within Oakville.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill the lead teacher's program and daily activities; if no plan exists, create and implement a developmentally appropriate program.
• Promote the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual well-being of children.
• Provide supervision and prioritize the safety of children; understand and comply with CCEYA, public health, and Sentient HR policies.
• Facilitate and participate with children in planned activities.
• Maintain and complete comprehensive documentation of children's development and interactions.
• Report issues or concerns that may arise in accordance with centre procedures.
• Foster positive relationships and develop rapport through effective communication with peers.
• Work cooperatively as a team member and maintain a positive attitude.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
