Job summary

Umbrella Family and Child Centres of Hamilton is hiring an RECE After School Educator on a permanent, part-time basis. The role supports children in after-school programs, plans activities, ensures safety, and collaborates with school partners.

The position offers a schedule from 2:30pm to 6:00pm, 19 hours per week, at Greensville Centre in Dundas, ON. The wage is per the Collective Agreement, with benefits including RRSP matching and an EAP.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) is required.
• Active registration with the College of ECE in good standing.
• Standard First Aid with CPR Level C.
• Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
• Proof of up-to-date immunizations (TB, Tetanus, MMR).

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement activities to support children’s development.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
• Maintain an engaging environment for children and families.
• Complete documentation and meet Ministry of Education requirements.

We operate full-day early learning and childcare centres for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, along with before and after school extended-day programs for kindergarten and school-aged children at over 27 locations across the Greater Hamilton Area.

Total Weekly Hours: 19hours per week

Schedule: Monday to Friday 2:30pm - 6:00pm

Pay Rate (per Collective Agreement, includes wage grants):

Who We’re Looking For

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1-year experience working directly with children or in a childcare setting.
• Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE)

Certifications:

• Active registration and good standing with the College of ECE
• Standard First Aid with CPR Level C

Skills & Knowledge:

• Familiarity with How Does Learning Happen? (an asset)
