Job summary

Sentient HR Services Inc is looking for a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to provide quality education and ensure the safety of children in North York. You will create developmentally appropriate programs, maintain documentation, and foster positive relationships with children and families.

A diploma in Early Childhood Education and a clear police check are required. We offer professional development and a transit gas card for qualified employees.

Qualifications

• Must have ECE Diploma and be in good standing with the College of ECEs.
• Reliable transportation within Toronto (North York).
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Police check required within 6 months.

Job description

As a RECE, you will be responsible for guiding, teaching, and ensuring the safety of children between infant and school age at centres located in Toronto (North York). Your responsibilities include maintaining a high-quality environment, assessing, observing, and caring for the individual needs of every child, and maintaining professional communication with parents and co-workers.

Working Conditions:

Responsibilities:

• Fulfill the lead teacher’s program and daily activities; if no plan exists, create and implement a developmentally appropriate program.
• Promote the physical, social, emotional and intellectual well‑being of children.
• Provide supervision and prioritize the safety of children; understand and comply with CCEYA, public health and Sentient HR policies.
• Facilitate and participate with children in planned activities.
• Maintain and complete comprehensive documentation of children’s development and interactions.
• Report issues or concerns that may arise in accordance with centre procedures.
• Foster positive relationships and develop rapport through effective communication with peers.
• Work cooperatively as a team member and maintain a positive attitude.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• ECE Diploma from a recognized Ontario college.
• In Good Standing with the College of ECEs.
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Police check (within 6 months).
• Valid Standard First Aid & CPR-C.
• Familiarity with HDLH, AQI, and CCEYA.
• Reliable transportation within Toronto (North York).
