Job summary

Eigenspace is seeking a seasoned civil designer to shape land development projects from concept to construction-ready designs. Work closely with project managers and civil engineers to deliver accurate, code-compliant drawings and models.

Responsibilities include modeling with Civil3D, coordinating with engineering teams, and managing multiple projects while maintaining high-quality delivery and timely permits. Strong analytical skills and field support are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in civil engineering, engineering design technology, or a similar field.
• Expertise with Autodesk Civil3D Points, Alignments, Profiles, Pipe Networks, Feature Lines, and Grading; Civil3D Corridors is a plus.
• Knowledge of sewer flow calculations, rational method, and SWMM modelling is a plus.
• Familiarity with City of Edmonton/EPCOR design and construction standards and their impact on private development submissions.
• Experience addressing municipal comments with reviewers to achieve approved designs.
• Ability to support field staff and provide prompt redline drawings or field-fit adjustments.
• 8+ years of hands-on land development design experience from concept to construction-ready designs.
• Strong teamwork, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Teams)
• Keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
• Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on land development projects including grading, underground, surface, stormwater, and shallow utilities.
• Model, draft, estimate, and support reporting using Civil3D.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to produce compliant drawing packages.
• Prepare designs from concept to construction-ready stages.
• Communicate with municipal and provincial authorities for permits and requirements.
• Contribute to design standards and process improvements.
• Deliver designs for residential and commercial developments.
• Perform engineering calculations and support QA reviews.
• Ensure timely, high-quality project completion.
