Job summary

WSP in Edmonton seeks an experienced Senior Civil Designer, Land Development, to shape communities in Alberta. You will develop land development drawings, create plans and 3D models using Civil 3D, and ensure designs meet municipal standards.

The role requires 8–10 years of Alberta land development design experience, proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• 8–10 years of land development design experience in Alberta.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Familiar with ProjectWise, ACC, Procore, or SharePoint.
• Strong analytical and Excel skills for design calculations.
• Field or construction site experience is an asset.
• Creative problem solver with attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine engineering drawings for land development projects.
• Create plans, profiles, and 3D civil models using Civil 3D.
• Interpret municipal and regulatory standards into design solutions.
• Prepare technical documents, reports, spreadsheets, and tables.
• Produce and quality check design drawings for accuracy and compliance.
• Support construction through site reviews and coordination with contractors.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for seamless project delivery.
• Contribute to environmentally responsible project planning.
