Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Chemical Engineer to lead and manage capital projects in Kimberley, overseeing from conception through to commissioning, with emphasis on delivering on time, within budget, and to high technical standards.

You will drive process design, equipment selection, and project planning while coordinating with operations, safety, procurement teams and external contractors. A strong leadership record and 8+ years in chemical project engineering are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in chemical project engineering and management.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex chemical plant projects.
• Strong knowledge of process design principles, equipment selection, and project management methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Experience with project management software and tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of chemical engineering capital projects, from feasibility studies to commissioning.
• Develop process designs, including P&IDs, mass/energy balances, and equipment specifications for new facilities or modifications.
• Manage project scope, budget, and schedule, ensuring successful project delivery.
• Coordinate with internal teams (operations, safety, procurement) and external contractors and vendors.
• Conduct technical reviews and ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
• Provide technical expertise and mentorship to project engineering teams.
