Job summary

WSP Canada in Calgary seeks a Senior Power Generation SME to provide expert leadership on combined cycle power projects, across 150 MW to >1 GW scales. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, mentor engineers, and deliver Owner's Engineer and advisory services for utilities, developers, lenders, OEMs and EPC contractors.

The role demands deep knowledge of gas turbines, HRSGs, plant integration and performance optimization, with hands-on support across FEED through commissioning and operation.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in combined cycle power plant design, operation, and performance optimization.
• Experience delivering Owner's Engineer and technical advisory services.
• Strong knowledge of gas turbines, HRSGs, and plant integration.
• Ability to guide projects through FEED, detailed engineering reviews and EPC delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead as WSP's technical authority for combined cycle power generation and guidance on gas turbines, steam cycles, HRSGs, and plant integration.
• Guide projects through lifecycle from concept to FEED, detailed engineering reviews, commissioning and operation.
• Evaluate plant performance, heat rate, capacity optimization, and design risks.
• Develop technical specifications and commissioning plans, with recommendations for clients.
• Deliver Owner's Engineer, lender's engineering, and advisory assignments for utilities and developers.
• Advance business growth through proposals, technical presentations, and client relationships.
• Advise on emerging power technologies and decarbonization strategies.
• Mentor engineers and project managers with lessons learned from power projects.
