ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY

Black & McDonald Limited is seeking an ambitious, hardworking and innovative candidate to fill a Senior Carpenter opening for work at a client site in Oromocto, New Brunswick. This individual would be responsible for general home maintenance and repairs on occupied and vacant residential housing units (PMQs) for CFB Gagetown. The successful candidate is expected to be able to handle a significant workload that includes ownership of minor projects, coordination of sub‑contractors, and work planning. They will work in a team environment that oversees the safe, secure and environmentally sound operations and maintenance of these assets in a cost‑effective manner.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:



  • Perform routine maintenance and repair work on residential units

EDUCATION, SKILL, & WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


  • 5 + years’ experience in residential property maintenance or similar field

  • Knowledge of home repair techniques, materials and tools

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently

  • Strong problem‑solving skills

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Keen interest and desire to continue to learn and able to take initiative

  • Willingness to work in a team environment

  • Must be able to respond to facility emergencies after hours


The expected pay range for this role is between $30.00- $36.00 per hour.


The starting salary will be determined based on several factors such as the successful candidate’s qualifications, including but not limited to education and experience. Base pay is one component of Black & McDonald’s total rewards package. Total rewards vary by position and may include additional offerings such as group insurance benefits, pension plan, career development programs, and other HR programs.
