Job summary

Sun Pointe Village in Kelowna, BC, is seeking a Social Worker to join a multidisciplinary care team. You will advocate for residents, support families, and contribute to a compassionate environment where seniors experience life well.

The role focuses on psychosocial support, counselling, and care planning, with responsibilities across resident and family support, program leadership, and collaboration with community agencies. 15 hours per week, Tue/Thu, 8:30-4:30.

Qualifications

• BSW is required; MSW preferred.
• Must be registered in good standing with BC College of Social Workers.
• Minimum one year experience with seniors or comparable background.
• Strong understanding of gerontology and psychosocial needs of older adults.

Responsibilities

• Assess resident psychosocial needs and contribute to care plans.
• Provide adjustment counselling, visits, crisis intervention, and emotional support.
• Facilitate care conferences and support transitions including move-in and end-of-service planning.
• Assist residents and families in navigating financial or material assistance programs.
