Job summary

AgeCare seeks an Assistant Director of Care for a Long-Term Care residence in Ontario. You will work with the senior management team to plan, organize, direct, and coordinate resident care in line with approved policies and procedures.

The role includes onboarding and annual staff education, health and safety, and infection prevention and control programs, with accountability for care plan accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing background.
• Familiarity with Nursing Homes Act and related health and safety laws.
• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Post-graduate studies in nursing, nursing administration or geriatrics are assets.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate resident care activities within approved policies and procedures.
• Onboarding and annual staff education, staff health and safety and infection prevention and control programs.
• Audits and reviews of resident care plans; ensure documentation reflects resident needs.
• Respond to resident or family concerns and escalate as appropriate.
