Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior CAD Technician to join our team in Vancouver BC.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Responsibilities
Develops CAD plans and details for various types of Bridge Structures.
Assists in CAD / BIM project setup.
Manages CAD / BIM deliverables on bridge projects and assists the PMs in preparation of tender documents.
Develops and expands expertise and skill in approved computer aided design (CAD) and Bridge Information Modeling (BIM) applications.
Applies CAD / BIM expertise and skill in the development of detailed transportation construction plans.
Develops specialized transportation structural details including steel pre-stressed and reinforced concrete bridge layouts.
Maintains project electronic files and archives.
Prepares as-built plans.
Provides guidance in CAD / BIM techniques and expedients to other technicians.
Implements BIM protocols and systems on new projects.
Coordinates project CAD / BIM model deliveries and reviewing models for accuracy.
Creates and implements BIM documentation and workflow processes.
Trains staff and project teams on BIM implementation.
Ensures accurate integration of BIM technology with other construction and design software.
Coordinates and oversees work with production centers in various locations.
Other related tasks as required.
Qualifications
Requires a minimum 10-15 years applicable experience or demonstrated skill and at least 2-year diploma from an accredited college is preferred.
Must have skills with AutoDesk and Bentley software products in an engineering environment associated with the production of bridge structural plans.
Knowledge of MS Office 3D and Imaging software as well as computer skills such as networking hardware / software installations configurations and troubleshooting is desired.
Knowledge of other software related to CAD such as Revit Sofistik Tekla OpenRoads and OpenBridge is desired.
Experience leading a team of CAD / BIM technicians is desired.
