Job summary

Syntronic is seeking an intermediate C++/Qt Embedded Developer to build reliable software for embedded and mission-critical systems. You will design, implement, and test GUI-driven applications on Linux, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure robust performance and maintainability.

The role requires strong C++ skills, extensive Qt GUI experience, and hands-on Linux-based development in safety-critical or high-reliability environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant software development experience in embedded, Linux-based, or device-focused environments.
  • Strong experience developing graphical user interfaces using Qt.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix-based operating systems and software integration, debugging, and configuration.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP, UDP, SIP, RTP, SNMP or similar networking protocols.
  • Experience with modern C++ standards (C++14/17/20).
  • Experience developing software for safety-critical, mission-critical, regulated, or high-reliability environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software applications using C++ and Qt.
  • Develop graphical user interfaces using Qt/QML or Qt Widgets for operator-facing systems.
  • Work with Linux-based platforms to support software integration, debugging, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with software, systems, test, and integration teams to deliver reliable functionality across complex environments.
  • Troubleshoot software issues related to UI behavior, performance, and platform integration.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, testing activities, and release preparation.
  • Support integration and validation activities, debugging issues found during lab or customer testing.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation related to software design, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.

We are looking for an intermediate C++ / Qt Embedded Developer to support the development of software for embedded and mission-critical systems. This role will focus on building reliable applications and user interfaces that support complex communication, monitoring, and control systems. The ideal candidate has strong C++ experience, hands-on Qt GUI development skills, and is comfortable working in Linux-based environments where software needs to be stable, maintainable, and well-tested.

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software applications using C++ and Qt.
  • Develop and enhance graphical user interfaces using Qt/QML or Qt Widgets for operator-facing systems.
  • Work with Linux-based platforms to support software integration, configuration, debugging, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with software, systems, test, and integration teams to deliver reliable functionality across complex hardware and software environments.
  • Troubleshoot software issues related to UI behaviour, system performance, communication interfaces, and platform integration.
  • Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, testing activities, and release preparation.
  • Support integration and validation activities, including debugging issues found during lab testing, system testing, or customer acceptance testing.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation related to software design, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with networked or communications systems, including protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, SIP, RTP, SNMP, or similar.
  • Advanced Qt experience, including custom widgets, model/view architecture, multithreading, performance tuning, and debugging complex UI behaviour.
  • Experience with system integration, acceptance testing, troubleshooting, or deployment in lab or customer environments.
