Job Overview:
We are looking for aJunior Buyer (Contract) to join our Corporate Purchasing Team based in Cambridge, Ontario. The role supports the Procurement team by managing indirect purchases, analyzing spend, and maintaining accurate vendor and material data in SAP. The role involves preparing RFPs and contracts, auditing invoices, monitoring vendor performance, and contributing to process improvements across departments.
Responsibilities:
- To develop, review, organize and analyze RFP's and contracts for indirect purchases, supporting operations, engineering, innovation, and corporate services.
- To report and analyze indirect spend to support strategic sourcing
- Audit invoices and monitor vendors conformance
- Demonstrate a systematic and innovative approach to problem solving
- Communicate effectively with internal customers and suppliers
- Monitor market conditions using online tools, networking and published information
- Participate in cross functional teams to drive continuous improvement
- Maintain master data for Raw Material, Packaging and Indirect purchases, including contracts, confidentiality agreements, material masters, vendor masters, new vendors packages, and other procurement trackers.
- Manage sample and freight trackers
- Provide administrative support for Procurement department
- Maintain vendor master, material master and Purchase info records for SAP
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years of relevant purchasing experience, ideally in a consumer-packaged goods company
- Experience with SAP (ERP)
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Relevant post-secondary degree or diploma (or equivalent experience) with experience in supply chain (i.e. MRP, manufacturing process, strategic sourcing, negotiating and contracts).
- Working towards a SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional) designation
- Knowledge of Supply Chain procedures
- Ability to influence decision makers; excellent relationship management skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Advanced Excel skills)
