Job description

Horizon Recruitment Inc. is conducting an immediate search for a Senior Buyer to join one of our high-profile Lower Mainland clients for a 12-month contract position based in Prince George, BC.

This role will be responsible for supporting procurement infrastructure projects and capital upgrades.

The role will support a portfolio of projects with a wide range in size and complexity.

Responsibilities :
  1. Participate in the end-to-end procurement process including RFP / RFQ preparation, bid evaluations, and preparation of contract documents for major construction projects.
  2. Ensure that all contract resources and support services are delivered.
  3. Prepare, process, and provide recommendations on contract change orders.
  4. Coordinate vendor information and maintain an up-to-date database of documentation.
  5. Manage a high volume of change orders and ensure compliance.
  6. Deal effectively with engineers and understand their technical plans and specifications; a strong technical background would be an asset.
Requirements :
  1. Highly organized individual with attention to detail.
  2. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  3. Proven ability to manage shifting priorities, deliverables, and multiple stakeholders.
  4. Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) preferred.
  5. Experience working in a complex, large-scale environment.
  6. Minimum 5 years procurement experience focusing on construction projects.
  7. Experience with the competitive bid process in a public procurement setting.
  8. SAP experience is an asset.
  9. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with both external and internal customers at all organizational levels.
  10. Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-level, project-based environment with an emphasis on project timelines and delivery.

Remuneration: $45-$55/hr.
