Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Buyer to join our dynamic procurement team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services to support organizational goals. As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, managing complex purchasing processes, and ensuring that the company obtains the best possible value for its investments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the procurement of goods and services across various categories, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.

  • Develop and implement regional sourcing strategies to optimize the supply chain and reduce overall procurement costs.

  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and assess the market for trends and new opportunities, presenting recommendations to senior leadership.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring high levels of performance and compliance with contractual obligations.

  • Negotiate favorable pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to maximize cost savings and operational efficiency.

  • Evaluate supplier performance regularly and collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies and external regulations, including ethical sourcing and sustainability standards.

  • Work closely with the sales and operations teams to monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and ensure inventory is maintained at optimal levels.

  • Prepare regular reports and analyses on procurement activities, expenditures, supplier performance, and cost savings.

  • Use data to inform decision-making and provide insights for strategic purchasing decisions.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (MBA or relevant certifications preferred).

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role.

  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier negotiation, and contract management. Familiarity with industrial suppliers a plus.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to arrive at win-win solutions.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in procurement software (Netstock) and ERP (Sage X3) systems.

  • Advanced skills in utilizing Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools (Tableau) to analyze data and provide actionable business insights.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a demanding day-to-day schedule and multiple projects.
